Ernie McIntyre – Letter 33

No. 3. London General Hospital
Trinity Road S.W.
Wandsworth
4/8/1915

Dear Everybody,

Am getting on tip-top now, was out for the first time today.  Three of us, just in pyjamas & dressing gowns hired a taxi & went for a drive round our immediate surroundings.  The beauty of the whole place is beyond me at the present time, & I have not time tonight to give you a detailed account of the places we saw.  Amongst them however was the famous Richmond Park which we drove through.  We had a spin along part of the embankment of the Thames, crossed over the famous Hammersmith bridge, known of course in connection with the sculling races.  We sailed along gaily, on flaged roadway all the way, & crossed on our way back the Putney bridge the part on the Thames where sculling races start. Altogether it was a glorious spin, & opened my eyes.  Sister will be along in a moment to put the light out, so I must be off.

Your Sincere
Brother E.S.McI.

P. S.
I want you to let Mr Diack have a look at this Graphic before you send it round, & I would like you to get it back again.
E.S.
