Thursday night

Dear May,

We arrived here this afternoon & are just getting sort of settled down.  We are in floored tents & they are not as convenient as the huts although we quite happy here.  There are 8 of us in a tent & we picked our own crew & have all got together.  The most important item of news is that we sail early in Nov. about six weeks earlier than was expected & we are to get our leave about Oct 10th but as we are pushed for time I don’t think we will get more than a few days leave.  We are to rise at 5.30 here & are on duty until 5 & the officers have promised us a pretty solid time.  There is a rumour that we are to go to India on garrison duty but I think it is only a rumour & will probably be contradicted tomorrow.  Feeling pretty tired tonight so will post this & turn in.

Love from Len
