Dear May,
Have landed at our Base & have been up before the Board but have not heard how I have been classified. Will try to find out before I post this. It is rather a bad time to expect much as old Fritz’s push is on, however I seemed to get a sympathetic hearing. I am not much good to them as I am, & I don’t care whether they cure me or send me home, but I am tired of hanging round Hosp’s & C. Camps. There is quite a number of chaps I know here, including Mark Collins, Dick Hume & Whistler. Grant the chemist from Gore is also here in the dispensary. Helm Hume was here about a week ago but went up to the forward base before I arrived. It is alright to get back among our own troops after being so long in mixed camps. I am still

waiting for N.Z. mail. Wrote to Base P.O. soon as I landed here so should land something soon. I saw Dick get a big bundle of letters today but have not seen him since. There is no news here, & have heard nothing from the Coy. lately. As for the Push I suppose you know more about it than we do. Hope to have more to write about next time.
Love to All
Len
P.S. Have been classified B2Y which means that I carry on with light exercise for a week or two & go before the Board again. Mark tells me that Dick Wade is working somewhere near here. I’m not sure whether he has seen him or not.
