“Mark & I have been working together on the same shift for a long time but last time we were in he was put on another job & another cobber of mine got his place & one night we were looking over the parapet & a stray rifle bullet got him through the head & he died in a few minutes. I was only about two feet from him & I can tell you I felt pretty nervey for a while. That is what sickens a man of the job.”
