NZ enters Palestine

In a plan to encircle the Ottoman garrison stationed at Rafah, the NZ Mounted Rifles were issued the daunting task of positioning themselves to attack from behind. In doing so, they crossed into Palestine and inadvertently became the first members of the allied Egyptian Expeditionary Force to do so. By no means an easy feat, the Battle of Rafah resulted in another victory for the Allies.
