Dear Everybody,
Since writing you last night I have bee round Dundee again & have managed to pick up a souvenier spoon, which I am sending on, & hope it will meet with your approval. On the handle you have the Dundee coat of arms, & the motto is “Prudence & Candour”. I thought it would be nice if I could pick up one of these in every city in which I have the good fortune to stay. Of course I may not be able to get them but I am hoping to. Very funny I spent this morn at a stock sale in Dundee, & really it was good sport. However everything is an awful price, cattle that we would not pay more than £10 for in N.Z. were being sold for from £40 to £30. Meat here is an awful price, as much as 1/7 a lb in some places. One cattle beast weighing 12 cwt was sold £42.17-6. The cattle are all sold singly & every one is weighed. The yards are all inside a building too, & everything goes with a good swing.
Yours Sincerely
E.S.McI.
