Len Shepard – Letter 35

[April 1916]

France

Dear May

There is not much to write about this week.  Next letter I write I hope to have something really exciting to tell you.  Don’t be surprised if you don’t hear quite so regularly now.  I see by the “Daily Mail” that we are in France so I suppose it will be in all the N.Z papers too & before this is far on the road

you might see more about us.  We are all in the very best of health & in good condition to stand a bit of trench life.  The two Alberts & I are still together & judging by our past luck we should stick together to the end of the job now.  You can tell Miss Latham that I frequently see her brother Bob.  He is with Wilfred Kirk & Ian Cullen & they seem to be having a good time together.
